Meet Sean Conroy

Sean Conroy isn't a career politician. He's your neighbour, a father of three, and the Leader of the Ontario Libertarian Party. He is also the dedicated OLP Candidate for his home riding of York-Simcoe. He’s running for one simple reason: he looked at the ballot and knew the people of his community... And indeed, all Ontarians... Deserved better.

Deep Roots in York-Simcoe and Professional Leadership

Sean’s connection to York-Simcoe is lifelong. After being born in Toronto, his family moved here in 1985, and he’s been a part of the community ever since.

His commitment to service began long before politics. From 1992 to 1999, Sean was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets, retiring as Cadet Commanding Officer. Through the cadet program, he was a familiar face, actively supporting the Royal Canadian Legion, the Newmarket Veterans Association, and various community projects.

Professionally, Sean has built a career in leadership. He’s a high-school graduate who worked his way up to become the Staging Division Manager for a large Toronto-based live event production company. He knows what it means to lead a team, manage a budget, and be accountable for results—real-world skills he is committed to bringing to Queen's Park as the candidate for York-Simcoe and as the leader of the party.

A Journey to Principled Leadership

Sean has been passionate about politics from a young age, but his direct journey to political action was one of principle. For years, he felt politically homeless. He grew disillusioned with the old parties and their empty promises. He briefly explored new options but became uncomfortable with "an uncomfortable direction of extreme right policies masked in freedom."

He was looking for a party that stood for true, consistent principles. He found it in the Ontario Libertarian Party.

When the snap election was called for February 2025, Sean looked over the options left on the ballot. He realized that, in good conscience, he couldn't vote for any of them. After talking with his family and friends, he decided it was time to stop complaining about the choices he had and become one of the choices. He reached out to the party and became the candidate for his home riding of York-Simcoe, driven by the belief that the path to real change starts right here, but must be offered provincially.

Soon after the provincial election, Sean's dedication and organizational skills were recognized, leading to his appointment as the OLP's Party Campaign Director. After serving in this vital role, his commitment to the party's core principles and his proven leadership were recognized by the membership, resulting in his election as Party Leader.

As Leader of the OLP, Sean is committed to providing a principled, liberty-focused alternative for every community in Ontario. As the York-Simcoe Candidate, he is dedicated to being the voice of this community at Queen's Park.

You Know Best: Government shouldn't be dictating morality or telling you what to do with your body. Sean trusts you to make your own choices.

Accountability is Non-Negotiable: He believes government must operate within its means (just like your family does) and be held accountable for every decision.

Freedom First: Sean is running to defend all your freedoms, from your economic freedom to your personal liberties.

His vision is to restore accountability, reduce the size and scope of government, tackle the deficit, and let the people of York-Simcoe keep more of their hard-earned paycheques. This is the platform he is bringing forward as the candidate, and the vision he is championing as Party Leader across Ontario.
